Lamborghini

Lamborghini is an Italian manufacturer of high performance sports cars now a subsidiary of Volkswagen Audi Group. The company was founded in 1963 by Mr. Ferruccio Lamborghini. The Origin of Lamborghini starts when Ferruccio Lamborghini, owner of a small tractor manufacturing company, went to Ferrari factory to discuss about the quality of the clutch of a Ferrari car he bought. Mr. Enzo Ferrari (Ferrari comany owner) was rude and arrogant, and when Mr. Ferruccio Lamborghini went back home, decided to dismantle the clutch by himself to solve the problem. After improving the clutch, he decided to produce a superior sports car than Ferrari, because he didn’t like to buy other Ferrari cars in the future. The first Lamborghini appeared with great success in 1963 at Turin Motor Show. This Lamborghini was powered by a V12 cylinders engine with aluminum parts, 4 cams, a short stroke and 2 valves per cylinder, and developed 350 HP (260 kW).

The 350 GT was a success and it allowed Lamborghini to introduce the 400 GT, and in the 1965 the legendary Miura that introduced Lamborghini into the world of supercar manufacturers. Then was developed a 4 seat sport car, Espada, powered by a V12, 4 litre, and in 1973 Lamborghini started the production of the Countach, the first car with scissor doors, and rear air intakes.

Because of oil crisis in the 1970s, there were problems with sales of high performance cars, and Lamborghini risked to go into bankruptcy. After several takeovers, Audi Volkswagen Group became the owner of Lamborghini giving high technical resources. such as carbon fiber construction, and the new V10 and V12 engines. The Miura, the Countach, the Diablo, and the Murciélago, are the most desired dream cars of all time. Lamborghini’s cars are the most powerful, expensive and exclusive cars.

Lexus Hybrid Cars

Lately eco friendly cars are becoming increasingly attractive to Americans. Hybrid cars were worldwide known as cars for people who want to save gas, to cut polluting emissions, and to save tax. Yes, hybrid cars are fuel efficient cars, but now Lexus, the luxury brand by Toyota, have introduced into the market a new concept of eco friendly cars.

The new Lexus LS hybrid car

5.0 Liter hybrid V8 – 438 hp total output – 0-100Km/h (0-60mph) in 5.5 sec. – 4 wheel drive. If you plan to buy a luxury car, you cannot miss a test drive of the new Lexus LS hybrid.

Hybrid cars save gas, twice the mileage you can expect from a standard car, hybrid car owners get a tax credit too, we are no interested in saving money, but to emphasize that hybrid technologies reduce polluting emissions and offer a terrific acceleration. Honda introduced the first hybrid car into American market in 1999, a small size car, but now you can find on the market a wide range of high tech cars, a sedan Lexus GS 450h Hybrid, a SUV Lexus RX 400h Hybrid, and a luxury LS 500h. Not all hybrid cars work the same way, but all hybrid cars have in common dual power sources using the combined power of a gas engine and an electric motor. The electric motor provides a significant boost at low speeds, furthermore the CVT (continuously variable transmission) that replaces the standard 5 gears maximizes gas engine performance and fuel efficiency. the gas powered engine shuts off during a stoplight, saving fuel. Some hybrid cars can run solely on the battery for a short period (to drive in the center of crowded cities), and hybrid cars don’t need to be plugged in for recharging battery.

Urban mobility in the 21st century

The 20th century was dominated by gasoline motor vehicles. Fossil fuel is causing serious changes to the global climate and health problems. About 70% of all the oil goes to transportation and more than 90% of the energy for our transportation system comes from oil. One of the best ways to reduce environmental damage and have important public health benefits is to purchase green vehicles when and where it is available.

The cleanest energy is the energy you don’t use

After calculating the wheel energy efficiency of any car, it is clear that the electric vehicle is much more efficient and pollutes less than all kinds of alternative motors. From the perspective of emissions, electric cars are 10 times better than gasoline cars that produce a variety of emissions, including carbon dioxide, unburned hydrocarbons, lead. Because the traffic jam, a car engine always works in bad condition, low rpm, high consumption, high emissions.

Performance

Gasoline engines deliver high horsepower only from 3.000 to 4.000 rpm range, and they have no reasonable torque at low rpm’s. Electric motors are high energy efficiency and offer great acceleration without transmission or clutch at any rpm range, having reasonable torque from 0 rpm to 10.000 rpm. So electric cars have higher efficiency and lower total emissions than the most efficient gasoline cars. Gasoline cars are worldwide known as best performance cars, to be confident, the transition to green vehicles would take many decades, even if electric cars will be equivalent gasoline cars.

Savings

Green vehicles such as hybrid cars often seem to be a little more expensive, but it is false. In a few months the higher costs of an electric vehicle will be paid from saving money in gasoline, maintenance and service, furthermore the biggest investment is in the large positive environmental impact.
